100-Year Anniversary Event: German Christmas Market

-

Kick-off the holiday season by visiting our German Christmas Market.  This market is a tribute to the German POWs who worked at Kimmel Orchard during World War II. The market will feature food, festivities, and traditions from Germany. Enjoy a taste of traditional German food and drink.  Take time to enjoy some German Polka music in our Entertainment Tent.  And shop for holiday gifts from our local and regional small business vendors.

  • The event kicks off at 10 am with a Children's Lantern Parade featuring an appearance by Christkind, the German bearer of gifts.
  • Entertainment begins at 10:30 am in the Entertainment Tent featuring area polka bands, South O Polka Co and Czechlanders Orchestra.
  • Food, drink, and shopping will be available in the Apple Barn from 10 am to 4 pm.  Featured menu items include German Sauerbraten Sandwich, German Potato Salad, Apple Cinnamon Bratwurst, Traditional German Sauerkraut, four German Beers, and Gluhwein - German Mulled Wine.
  • Local and regional vendors and stores will be offering gifts and decorating items for the holidays at our Vendor Market located in the Kimmel Education & Research Center building.
